Travel is always a part of our summer, most of the times, we do short road trips and I love them.

But the kids always ask to bring their devices to use during the ride and that is not always an option because we don’t want them spending 2 hours stuck to the screen.

Inspired by the new movie HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 3: SUMMER VACATION where the whole family takes a vacation on a cruise and will spend quality time together even though they might face some challenges… One of our challenges might be kids being bored! LOL!

So, not to worry! Making these kids’ travel activity bags will feel like you are already giving them a little more quality time on any trips you take.

HOW TO MAKE THE KIDS’ TRAVEL ACTIVITY BAGS

I remember vividly one time we did a long road trip with my mom and I packed an *activity bag for me and one for my sister and I felt so prepared to NOT be bored LOL! Anywhere we went I would bring my bag and pull out something fun to do.

•The idea is that the kids feel the same with this bag. Make sure to pack your kids’ travel activity bag according to what you know they enjoy the most plus some surprise items.

•Here is a list to help you out, most of these items listed I included in Adrian’s and Maya’s bags 🙂

• Sketchbook
• Notebook
• Color pencils
• Crayons
• Scissors
• Color paper
• Clipboard
• Folder for saving coloring pages
• Printables for coloring and playing (You can download Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation coloring pages, games, and activity here.)
• Glue stick
• Markers
• Little toys (I included a bubble gun)
• Stencils
• Playing cards
• Surprise packs! (See how to make Murray the Mummy surprise pack and Blobby pom pom craft below)
• Small whiteboard with dry-erase markers
• Books
• Snacks
• Water

*My activity bag back then was transparent and I feel it helps to get you excited since you can see all your things. Get a transparent one to make yours too, they are fun!

•Get most of the items at the dollar store.

•Don’t pack the markers or crayons in the box they come, use transparent pencil cases, that way they last and you can also easily see what’s inside.

MURRAY THE MUMMY SURPRISE PACKS

Since we are very into the Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation movie, I made the surprise packs and wrapped them as a Murray the Mummy! These have rubber bands, clips, and tape; believe it or not these office supplies will keep them busy when they don’t have anything else to do.

1. Place them all inside a plastic bag and use a self-adhering elastic bandage to wrap it.
2. To make the eyes color a space with a black marker directly on the bandage, then color a small piece of paper with a green highlighter, cut a couple of eyes (see Murray for reference) and glue them on top of the black.
3. Wrap a little more on the face and you are done.

I’m sure the kids will be dying to know what’s in there when they receive the bags!

BLOBBY POM PON CRAFT

Include sticky eyes, yarn, and cardboard templates. For the templates, cut 2 pieces of cardboard in a similar Blobby shape, draw a keyhole in the middle and cut it out (see pictures on this post for reference).

Maya loved this and she even made herself some pom poms without the template, wrapping the yarn around her hand and then hanging it as a necklace. She was already using her activity bag so well!

BTW, if you’re wondering which character I might identify with, I feel like Mavis!

She has a lot of responsibility, she’s a daughter, mom, wife, hotel manager and she can’t wait for that quality time during the cruise with her family.

KITS DE ACTIVIDADES DE VIAJE PARA NIÑOS

 

Un viajecito siempre forma parte de nuestro verano, la mayoría de las veces, hacemos viajes cortos por carretera (road trips) y a mi me fascinan.

Pero los niños siempre piden usar sus aparatos electrónicos durante el viaje y eso no siempre es una buena opción porque no queremos que pasen 2 horas pegados a la pantalla.

Inspirada por la nueva película HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 3: VACACIONES DE VERANO donde toda la familia se toma unas vacaciones en un crucero y pasan “calidad” de tiempo juntos aunque se van a enfrentar con algunos desafíos… ¡Uno de nuestros desafíos probablemente sea que los niños se aburran! Jaja!

Entonces, ¡no se preocupen! Con estos kits de actividades de viaje para niños ustedes se sentirán que ya les están dando un poco más de calidad de tiempo en cualquier viaje que hagan.

 

CÓMO HACER LOS KITS DE ACTIVIDADES DE VIAJE PARA NIÑOS

Recuerdo vívidamente una vez que hicimos un viaje por carretera super largo con mi mamá y yo empaqué un * kit de actividades para mí y otra para mi hermana y ¡me sentí tan preparada para NO aburrirme, jaja! A donde sea que íbamos, traía mi bolsito y sacaba algo divertido para hacer.

• La idea es que los niños sientan igual con este kit. Asegúrense de empacar el kit de actividades de viaje de sus hijos de acuerdo con lo que ustedes saben que ellos disfrutan más, además de algunas cositas sorpresa.

• Aquí hay una lista para ayudarles, la mayoría de estos artículos los incluí en las bolsas de Adrian y Maya 🙂

• Bloc de dibujo
• Libreta o cuaderno
• Creyones
• Lápices de color
• Tijeras
• Papel de diferentes colores
• Portapapeles (Clipboard)
• Carpeta para guardar páginas para colorear
• Imprimibles para colorear y jugar (Aquí pueden bajar las páginas de colorear, juegos y actividades del Hotel Transilvania)

* Mi kit de actividades en aquel entonces era transparente y me parece que eso ayuda a entusiasmarte ya que puedes ver todas tus cositas desde afuera. Háganlo transparente ustedes también, ¡son divertidos!

• La mayoría del contenido lo pueden obtener en la tienda de a dolar.

• No empaquen los marcadores o creyones en la caja en que vienen, usa cartucheras o bolsitos transparentes, de esa manera duran y también pueden ver fácilmente lo que hay adentro.

PAQUETES SORPRESA DE LA MOMIA MURRAY

Como estamos emocionados con la película Hotel Transylvania 3: Vacaciones de Verano, hice los paquetes sorpresa y los envolví como el personahe de la momia Murray. Estos paquetes tienen ligas, clips y teipe adentro; créanlo o no, estos artículos de oficina pueden mantener a los niños ocupados cuando no tengan nada que hacer.

1. Colóquelos dentro de una bolsita de plástico y usen una venda elástica autoadhesiva para envolverla.
2. Para hacer los ojos coloreen un espacio en la misma momia con un marcador negro directamente en el vendaje, después coloreen un pequeño trozo de papel con un resaltador verde, corta un par de ojos (mira aquí a Murray como referencia) y pégalos encima del negro.
3. Envuelve un poco más en la cara y listo.

¡Estoy segura de que los niños se morirán por saber qué hay allí cuando reciban los kits!

BLOBBY POMPON BAG

Incluye ojos adhesivos, estambre y plantillas de cartón. Para hacer las plantillas, corta 2 pedazos de cartón en forma parecida a Blobby, dibuja una figura tipo cerradura en el medio y córtalo (vean las fotos en este post como referencia).

A Maya le encantó esto e incluso se hizo algunos pompones sin la plantilla, envolviendo el hilo alrededor de su mano y luego se lo colgó como un collar. ¡Ella ya estaba usando su bolsa de actividades super bien!
