Inspiration from Lowe’s Creative Ideas

Have you seen the Creative Ideas magazine from Lowe’s before? A little bit ago I got invited to celebrate with them the launch of the magazine’s Spanish version’s page in Facebook and it was awesome because I got to make some of their projects right there and with some blogger friends plus it opened my eyes even more to all the endless possibilities there are to make something.

De great thing about the Spanish version is that it brings some projects that are latino oriented for the holidays. We made beautiful tambourines with plastic saucers and washers! We created napkin holders with some weird parts that I don’t even know what they are, so just imagine the big Lowe’s store full of construction and hardware supplies that we can reuse for anything handmade and very affordable…

They divided us in 3 teams, gave $150 to each team and in 1 hour we had to go buy supplies at Lowe’s and create something for the Holidays inspired in the magazine. I felt I was in a TV show! If it was for me I would be doing that all the time! We made a wreath out of light bulbs, we got inspiration from an idea in the magazine of a star made out of light bulbs. We didn’t win but we had too much fun. Check out the video that Lowe’s made below, because the cameras were following us everywhere like in the TV!

Nosé si ustedes conocen la revista Ideas Creativas de la tienda Lowe’s. Hace poco me invitaron a celebrar con ellos el lanzamiento de su página en Facebook y fué cheverísimo porque tuve la oportunidad de ver de hacer algunos de sus proyectos en vivo con amigas blogueras y me abrió aún más los ojos a todas las posibilidades que hay para hacer cosas a mano.

Lo chévere es que la versión en español trae algunos proyectos un poco más dirigidos a las tradiciones latinas este diciembre, hicimos unas panderetas bellas y los materiales que se usan son unos platicos para matas y tuercas! Unos anillos para servilletas hechos con unas piecitas que nosé si para que son pero a mi nunca se me hubiera ocurrido usarlas para eso. Entonces, imagínense la tienda Lowe’s con tantos materiales que hay para la construcción y cualquiera puede servir para hacer manualidades chéveres y económicas.

Nos dividireon en 3 equipos, nos dieron $150 a cada equipo y nos pusieron un timer enorme, en 1 hora tuvimos que ir a comprar materiales en Lowe’s y crear algo para la Navidad inspirándonos en la revista. Me sentí que estaba en un programa de televisión! Si fuera por mí concursara en algo así a cada rato! Nosotros hicimos una corona con bombillos, nos inspiramos en una idea de la revista donde tenían unos bombillos pegados como en una estrella. No fuimos las ganadoras pero nos divertimos demasiado! Chequen el video que hizo Lowe’s porque aparte nos perseguían con cámaras y todo!!
