You would think we have a beach day in San Diego every weekend. But it’s not true, even though I would love to, we just don’t have enough time to do it, some weekends are filled with errands or just relaxing and well, how about the pool? That is always fun too.
So we do enjoy the weather a lot in San Diego, specially these last summer days because believe it or not these days are the warmest, I love them.
Our last trip on the train inspired us to go and explore different beaches, we were used to going to La Jolla shores or Mission Bay but there are so many beaches that we don’t know yet so it’s fun to explore.
This time we took the kids to one that Derek says he used to go a lot growing up here: Silver Strands beach.
We liked it, the best part is that we could park really close to the area we sat in the beach, so not much walking with the many things we carry because we can’t really make it to the beach with just one bag. I do see families walking to and from the beach like that (with one bag) and I have no idea how they make it!
We get hungry and we want to do activities. So there is always a big bag of food, toys for the kids, magazines for me and well, my camera keeps me entertained a lot.
I was telling Derek that I miss the Venezuelan beaches so much, the caribbean weather can’t be beat but also, the vendors! Ice Cream, shaved ice, fresh seafood, drinks, anything under the sun, and they come to you! I miss that. over here, there is nothing and not all of the San Diego beaches are like this but never as in Venezuela.
One things for the others, I know. I love to live here anyways and we will try to enjoy some more beach days before it gets cold. it’s still pretty hot!
Como vivo aquí en San Diego, a lo pensarán que vamos a la playa casi que todos los fines de semana. Pero no es cierto, me encantaría poder hacer eso pero no nos alcanza el tiempo, muchos fines de semana se nos llenan haciendo diligencias o descansando o también vamos a la piscina que también es rico.
Así que claro que disfrutamos el maravilloso clima de San Diego, especialmente ahorita en los últimos días de verano porque es cuando está más caliente.
La otra vez que paseamos en tren nos inspiró a explorar más otras playas porque casi siempre íbamos a las mismas, a La Jolla Shores y a Mission Bay, pero hay tantas aquí que las queremos conocer todas.
Esta vez llevamos a los niños a una playa que Derek dice haber ido mucho hace tiempo con sus amigos cuando estaba chamo, se llama Silver Strands beach.
Nos gustó bastante, especialmente el hecho de que nos pudimos para super cerca de donde nos sentamos, así no había mucho que caminar cargando todo porque la verdad cada vez que vamos a la playa no podemos dejar de llevar tantas cosas. Yo veo a muchas familias yendo y viniendo con una bolsita nada más, casi que ni les veo toalla! Nosé como pueden, yo quisiera, la verdad, pero no puedo.
Es que nos da hambre y nos queremos llevar entretenimiento. Entonces llevamos una bolsa con comida, luego los juguetes de los niños, revistas para mi y bueno, yo me divierto mucho con mi cámara.
Les estaba contando a Derek que extraño mucho las playas venezolanas, ni hablar del rico clima tropical, pero los vendedores!!!?? Helado, raspado, mariscos frescos, bebidas, joyería, trajes de baño, DE TODO! Y lo mejor es que vienen a donde estás sentado, lo extraño. Aquí en esta playa, nada de nada, no todas son así, en muchas si venden alguna que otra cosa pero nunca como la variedad de las playas venezolanas.
Unas cosas por otras, ya sé. Igual me encanta vivir aquí y seguiremos tratando de disfrutar más playa en los pocos días de verano que quedan porque todavía está calientico!
