So it finally started: The big soccer games! The fun! The excitement! It’s only been a week but the kids got it, I feel we have made progress teaching them the culture of soccer.
The first day it was me and Maya alone at home watching the game, I was all excited by myself and trying to infect her with enthusiasm; when it was time to scream GOOAAAL she just watched me with her mouth opened, kind of not understanding what I was doing! LOL!
Well this is our fault, it’s the first time ever she experiences sports like this and so I grabbed her, hugged her, cheered her arms up, kept screaming goal, took selfies and whatever else I could. I think she started understanding… Because on Saturday, it was all of us 4 watching a couple of games that day and as soon as she heard us screaming goal, she screamed it herself, she jumped and she was genuinely excited, so cute!
For Adrian it wasn’t hard to get excited, he caught on right away of course, he even put his whole soccer uniform on!! It has been fun to talk to him about each country too, he asks a lot of questions about the countries and where they are and at the beginning he didn’t quite understand how they were all in Brazil.

Así que finalmente comenzó todo: ¡El Mundial! ¡Que emoción! Sólo ha pasado una semanita desde que empezó, pero ya los niños han aprendido, esta cultura del fútbol.
El primer día, estuvimos Maya y yo solitas en la casa viendo el partido, yo estaba emocionadísima yo sola tratando de contagiarla a ella y cuando llegó el momento de gritar GOOOOL ella me miraba con la boca abierta, ¡como que no le entraba en la cabeza que era lo que estaba haciendo! ¡Jajaja!
Bueno, ¡para todo hay una primera vez! Así que la agarré, la abracé, la hice aplaudir agarrándole sus brazos, seguí gritando gol, tomamos selfies, hice todo lo que pude; y entonces creo que comenzó a entender… Porque el sábado pasado, que estuvimos los 4 viendo un par de juegos de ese día en cuanto nos vió a nosotros gritando gol, gritó ella misma, saltó, bailó, hizo de todo jajaja y ahí si que estaba realmente emocionada, ¡tan linda!
Con Adrian no fué nada difícil emocionarlo, captó de forma inmediata por supuesto, le encanta el fútbol (hasta se puso su uniforme!). También ha sido muy divertido hablar con él acerca de cada país y hace un montón de preguntas acerca de los países y a donde es que están y al principio no entendía muy bien cómo es que están todos en Brasil.
