ABOUT

       A photo-inspired, bilingual lifestyle blog.

Welcome! I am Dariela, a Venezuelan mom, and graphic designer and currently reside in San Diego, California.

In 2001 I came to Los Angeles, California after living in Mexico City for three years. Mexico gave me the opportunity for professional and personal growth re-enforced by the taking in of fascinating culture and customs.

Since I was young I was attracted to traveling, not only to get to know different parts of the world but to learn from other cultures and “broaden my horizons” (as my mom would always tell me). Now I feel very fortunate to experience a time of great possibilities in a country where there are many opportunities to achieve any dream. For me, it is very rewarding to fulfill the roles of mother, wife, and friend without having to do without my career and hobbies. At the end of the day, family is the most important part to me and there is nothing better than to share everything with them.

My family consists of my husband Derek, whom I met after two months of arriving in Los Angeles, our 15-year-old son Adrian and 12-year-old girl Maya. This blog was born in 2007 driven by the need to share the experiences as a mother and photos of my first-born son, Adrian.

Now, 15 years later I have a site that is full of family adventures, photography, culture, stories, and above all, a blog that captures inspiration with an original and unique touch. Feel free to browse through it and leave me comments, I would love to meet you and talk some more!  Gracias!

Bienvenidos!

¡Gracias!

    Dariela,

Hi. We met many moons ago through prime time moms in Los Angeles and as I was cleaning out my email box from 2010 (terrible, I know), I stumbled upon your email. I revisited your website and was pleased to see you are still blogging your way through life. I wanted to comment on your post about bilingualism. I am participating through a language challenge at multi-lingual living. com. It is a community of people interested in retaining, re-learning, and re-exploring another language other than their native tongue. You might find some interesting pointers for yourself and your family. Just a thought to share.

Login to MeetUp.com and search for your interests in the San Francisco area, like latina designers or grupos donde hablen español. I know a another blogger friend from there you can get in touch with too: Claudya from Unknownmami.com she's awesome and if you are close you might meet her! Avísame cualquier cosa!!

    Hi Dariela,
I love your site and wonder if I could contribute a free blog post on parenting to help your members and visitors. I'm a parenting coach who has just written a book: Parent with Confidence: Power Tools for Bringing Up Great kids. I could write a unique post just for your site on a topic that concerns parents, such as picky-eating, fighting between siblings, how to let go and encourage independence in your child etc. You can find me at http://www.howtobringupgreatkids.com. Hope you'll be interested in my suggestion… Carolyn Bond
