A Family Getaway during the Pandemic to reconnect

A little while ago we had the fortune to take a little getaway during the pandemic, just 45 minutes away, in Mexico. The cool thing is that although it is close, you feel that you traveled a lot because it is another country.

We have been to this same place (Rosarito) several times in recent years because we have a friend who lends us the apartment there, so it makes it easier. For a long time, I wanted to share it here because and show you that even if it is something simple and close, going to another place for two nights (when you can!) is something that helps all of our mental health and even more during a pandemic.

Usually, it’s the same thing, the four of us in the same house, but just changing places even if it’s still just the four of us helps us bond.

We did this little trip from a Friday at noon to a Sunday afternoon, we watched movies in the apartment, we ate a couple of times (with precautions) outside in the restaurants that we found open, and we got into the pool (a little bit) and the Jacuzzi, the beach was too cold! But it was really nice to walk it.

Due to the pandemic, there are many places that are closed and you cannot do normal activities but just walking on the beach, being in contact with nature automatically gives you peace of mind and I have learned that it really does recharges your energy.

The kids don’t get excited as much as they used to when they were little and they usually say that it is SO boring to go for a walk… But once we are there they go and run, explore, jump around and I know they are having fun, nature never disappoints! Of course, when we finished the walk they still say it was boring hahaha! I love it because I take photos of them, the beach, anything really… It feeds my creativity!

This getaway during the pandemic felt so short but we recharged quite a bit. It has been already like 3 months since we did it, we kind of need another one now!! Where do you like to go to recharge and reconnect as a family?

PS: My favorite two places we went: Monociclo for coffee and Enelmar restaurant with such a pretty view!
