We’ve been listening to podcasts for a while now. I don’t remember which kid podcast was the first one we discovered but it had to be either Circle Round or Sugarcrash Kids, one of those two. And of course, those are in this list of Favorite Podcasts for Tweens that we absolutely LOVE!
When I say that we LOVE them I empathize it because I feel that Adrian and Maya are picky for podcasts and they don’t like just any, so this list has their absolute favorite.
Also, I didn’t name it favorite kids podcasts because Maya is 9 and Adrian is 12, lots of kids podcasts don’t make their cut because they seem to appeal to younger ones. This is definitely a list of favorite podcasts for tweens.
NOTES:
- Some of them in this list Maya doesn’t like, but Adrian does or vice-versa. I’ll be pointing that out for you guys to keep in mind the best age for them.
- They are both open to listening to new podcasts and believe me, we have listened to a lot of them, but if they are not on this list it’s because they don’t make the cut. This is THE LIST.
- Some of the podcasts listed are discontinued (So sad) but we love them so much that they are worth it!
- As a parent, a lot of these podcasts are fun to listen too, I will point out my favorites to listen with them and the ones I can’t even.
- As time goes by a new awesome podcast for kids comes out that they will love and I will update the post with the new addition.
Folk stories from around the world, excellent production, magically intertwined with original music for each story and many famous actors from screen or stage are part of the stories.

This podcast is in the list of our 3 favorite podcasts ever. We don’t miss it, it comes out every Monday and Wednesday for 6 minutes each time only!! It’s a great mystery story about a girl (Holiday) with special abilities that doesn’t remember her past.

It’s hard to describe this podcast, I would say it’s a crazy party that educates and entertains full of music and great storytelling. You’ll be amazed at how much you will engage with the characters and stories as an adult too! It is one of the first podcasts we listened to, sadly is discontinued, but there are a lot of episodes to listen in and they are evergreen.

4- THE RADIO ADVENTURES OF ELEANOR AMPLIFIED
This is a fun adventure series of a radio reporter: Eleanor Amplified. The story is fiction with some drama and comedy, it has a little bit of everything for everybody.

A super fun game show where kids get to listen about a subject and they have to guess between lies and truth, the best part is the robot: LISA (Live In Studio Audience). I laugh and learn a lot with this one myself!!

A story of a girl who invokes an evil spirit because she was curious about her family history and legends, she ends up in a great journey where she learns life lessons too. A super cool adventure story, it almost feels like a little audiobook.

A story about a girl, Chloe that learns that her grandma is Mother Nature herself, she has to go live with her and adapt to her new life. Mysterious and full of adventure!

Of course, this is a podcast for Christmas, it’s a cute story about a girl that makes a wish on the Christmas Star and then happens to pop into Tinsel Town. It also feels like an audiobook with beginning and end.

9- THE ALIEN ADVENTURES OF FINN CASPIAN
This is a series about a boy Finn that has pet robots, a space station and many adventures! He discover uncharted planets, help aliens in far-off galaxies, and take tips from listeners back on Earth as they try to solve the universe’s great mysteries. There are many many episodes available!

10- THE UNEXPLAINABLE DISAPPEARANCE OF MARS PATEL
This is a full mystery series made with real middle-schoolers, it’s very engaging, adventurous and fun. You can find the first season for free in many players but the second and third seasons you will have to download the app Pinna to listen. They offer a free first month once you download.

This podcast is soo funny! A cat has a podcast and a dog has a podcast too, they try to sabotage each other and there are other animals participating. It’s so engaging but the sad part is that it is discontinued and they have a little amount of episodes made. My kids listened to them like 5 times over and over again!

12- THE MYSTERIOUS MYSTERIES OF TOBY TAYLOR
This is a magician (specifically a fruit magician!) that is also a detective, he solves mysteries around the town he happens to visit. His sister is his assistant and helps out with the mysteries as well. They talk a lot and it is fast-paced, there is only one season but it seems they might make more soon?

Oh how much I LOVE this podcast! A girl with a mixed culture, -like our family!- tries new adventures and looks for her God-given talent while learning family values and life lessons. It’s just starting so not so many episodes, hopefully, it grows! It’s more for younger ones like Maya, I say after kids are 11 they won’t like it too much.

My favorite app to listen to podcasts is Stitcher, it’s too bad that not all the podcasts are available there so I use Spotify when it’s not available on Stitcher.
We usually listen to them together in the car (it’s a good idea for road trip activity) but sometimes the kids will listen at home with their headphones or use our Google Home.

14 PODCASTS FAVORITOS PARA PREADOLESCENTES
Hemos estado escuchando podcasts por un buen tiempo ya. No me acuerdo qué podcast de niños fue el primero que descubrimos, pero creo que sería Circle Round o Sugarcrash Kids, uno de esos dos. Y, por supuesto, ¡esos están en esta lista de nuestros podcasts favoritos para preadolescentes que nos FASCINAN!
Cuando digo que nos fascinan lo digo en serio porque Adrián y Maya son super exigentes con los podcasts y no les gusta cualquiera, así que esta lista tiene los que de verdad les gustan.
Además, no lo llamé podcasts infantiles favoritos porque Maya tiene 9 años y Adrian tiene 12 años, hay muchos podcasts de niños que son chéveres y todo pero son para más chiquiticos. Esta es definitivamente una lista de podcasts favoritos para preadolescentes.
NOTAS
- Desafortunadamente no hemos encontrado ni un solo podcast en español para niños, todos los de la lista están en ingles. Si conoces uno en español, ¡¡cuéntame!!
- Hay algunos podcasts en esta lista que a Maya no le gustan, pero a Adrian sí y viceversa. Lo indiqué en las descripciones para que tengan en cuenta la mejor edad para cada cual.
- Ambos están abiertos a escuchar nuevos podcasts y créanme, hemos escuchado muchos de ellos, pero si no están en esta lista es porque simplemente no son tan chéveres. Esta LA LISTA.
- Algunos de los podcasts en la lista están descontinuados (muy triste) pero los amamos tanto que valen la pena escuchar lo que está disponible.

Este podcast tiene un formato de concurso de televisión, es cheverísimo! Cada episodio trata de un tema donde un niño participa y tiene que adivinar entre mentiras y verdades del tema, la mejor parte es el robot que también lleva el programa, se llama LISA que por las siglas (en inglés) significa audiencia en vivo del estudio. ¡Yo me río mucho y aprendo mucho con este!

Ofrecen un primer mes gratis una vez que la descarguen.

¡Este podcast es muy divertido! Un gato tiene un podcast y un perro también tiene un podcast, intentan sabotearse mutuamente y hay otros animales que participan. Es muy interesante, pero la parte triste es que está descontinuado y sólo tienen una pequeña cantidad de episodios. ¡Los nenes escucharon todos los episodios una y otra vez!

¡Este podcast es una belleza! Una niña con una cultura mixta, como nuestra familia, intenta nuevas aventuras y busca su talento especial (el que Dios le dió) mientras aprende valores familiares y lecciones de vida. Está comenzando, así que no hay tantos episodios, esperemos que siga creciendo! Es más para los chiquitos como Maya, ya a partir de los 11 años para arriba no creo que se interesen.

Mi aplicación favorita para escuchar podcasts es Stitcher, lamentablemente no todos los podcasts estén disponibles ahí, pero por ahora también uso Spotify cuando no puedo escuchar algo en Stitcher.
Por lo general, los escuchamos juntos en el carro (es buena idea para actividad de viaje por carro), pero a veces los niños los escuchan solos en la casa con sus audífonos o usan el Google Home.
