We got invited recently to try out this restaurant that only sells Ceviche: Como Ceviche in downtown San Diego. It’s the first time I ever know that something like this even exists!

I decided to give it a try and took all the family with me. Just by the branding, Como Ceviche wins my designer heart 🙂

The place is spot on everything! I love the decor, they even have wall-covered colorful texts (so pretty!). It is located in downtown San Diego very close to Petco Park and the Central Library. That area is getting a lot of cool places, I feel I need to visit all of them and take photos.

But let’s talk about the food. You think that ceviche is done only one way, but no. There are many ways to make ceviche depending on what area it is from. I remember the first time I tried ceviche while living in Mexico I thought: That’s weird, I don’t remember ceviche tasting like this before. Well, that’s because in Mexico they prepare it slightly differently, or, for some people, a lot different!

At Como Ceviche they have Ceviche seven different ways: Caribbean, Mexican Baja Style, Cuban, Peruvian Aji Amarillo Style, Mexican Aguachile Style, Peruvian Rocoto Style, and even Vegan. See? There are even 2 different styles within a country!

My favorite style was Caribbean because it has mango and it’s served with plantain chips! Derek tried the Mexican Baja style and he liked it.

Maya doesn’t like fish at all!! So we got a plate with rice and chips for her, not so nutritious but at least she ate something!

I recommend you plan a downtown San Diego outing and explore that area and then have some yummy lunch at Como Ceviche!

COMO CEVICHE EN SAN DIEGO

Aclaratoria: Como Ceviche nos ninvitó a probar su comida. Como siempre todas opiniones, ideas e historias son 100% mías.

Nos invitaron recientemente a probar este restaurante que sólo vende Ceviche: Como Ceviche en el centro de San Diego. ¡Es la primera vez que sé que existe algo así !

Decidí ir a ver de qué se trataba la cosa y me llevé a Derek y a los niños. Sólo de ver el diseño y los colores, Como Ceviche me conquistó 🙂

El lugar es perfecto en todo! Me encanta la decoración, incluso tienen algunas paredes cubiertas textos coloridos (super lindo!). Está ubicado en el centro de San Diego muy cerca de Petco Park y de la Biblioteca central. Esa zona está abriendo un montón de lugares bien chéveres, siento que tengo que visitarlos todos, probar lo que venden y tomarles fotos.

Pero hablemos de la comida. Ustedes dirán que el ceviche se hace solamente una manera, pero no, hay muchas maneras de hacer ceviche dependiendo de qué área sea. Me acuerdo que la primera vez que probé ceviche mientras vivía en México pensé: Que raro, no recuerdo que el ceviche fuera así. Bueno, eso es porque en México lo preparan de manera ligeramente diferente, o, para algunas personas sería muy diferente!

En Como Ceviche tienen ceviche de siete maneras diferentes: Estilo Caribe, estilo mexicano (Baja), cubano, estilo peruano de ají amarillo, estilo mexicano de aguachile, estilo peruano rocoto, e incluso estilo vegano. ¿Que tal? Hay incluso 2 estilos diferentes dentro de un país!

El ceviche que más me gustó a mi es el caribeño porque tiene mango y se sirve con platanitos fritos. Derek probó el estilo mexicano Baja y le gustó.

A Maya no le gusta el pescado!! Así que nos dieron un plato con arroz y platanitos para ella, la verdad no fue nutritivo pero al menos comió algo!

Si vienen a San Diego o viven aquí les recomiendo que planeaen un día de paseo por el centro por esta zona para explorar y almuerzan en Como Ceviche.
