A Cupcake Birthday Party

Maya turned 5 years old! Her birthday celebrations are always several days because we have a party for her on a weekday at preschool with her friends, then her real birthday day and a weekend with the family. I think this year will be the last of that because then she will be in Kinder and so no weekday preschool party.

Since she turned 4 she told me she wanted her next birthday to be a cupcake birthday, I really thought she was going to change her mind but no, she kept mentioning it and the day arrived and here we are, a cute cupcake themed party.

I love planning parties like this, there are so many possibilities! Although I really did something simple and easy:

A jumpy.
A cupcake piñata.
Her cake where cupcakes that all the kids decorated themselves.
Cute pink straws and drinks!

That’s all! It really made for an entertaining little party and it looked so cute. Maya was super happy and enjoyed it as well as all the kids.

I made cupcakes with a box of Betty Croker’s cake mix called Cherry chip and it was delicious! I got pre-made frosting and frosted them myself! It’s my first time using a pastry bags and supplies and I loved it, can’t wait to do it again and learn more.

While shopping around for drinks I found the sparkling waters La Croix and since one of them had lots of pink I thought it was a great match for the party too.

We can’t even believe she’s 5 already it but it’s true. It’s been so great to have Mayita in our family, she is one of a kind, a very pinky girly girl but with a strong personality.

She is loving to draw and read these days. When we get home after having snack you will catch her playing by herself most of the time, talking and talking with her dolls and with anything she has on hand. I love how she plays pretend so well!

¡Maya cumplió 5 años! Sus celebraciones de cumpleaños son siempre varios días porque le hacemos una fiesta un día de semana en el preescolar con sus amiguitos, luego el día de su cumpleaños de verdad le cantamos y un fin de semana con la familia. Creo que este año será el último de hacer todo eso porque ya el año que viene estará en Kinder.Desde que cumplió 4 me dijo que quería que su próximo cumpleaños fuera de cupcakes, realmente pensé que se le iba a olvidar, pero no, siempre lo mantuvo presente y el día llegó y aquí estamos, una fiesta de cumpleaños estilo cupcakes.

La verdad me encantan este tipode fiestas porque ¡hay tantas posibilidades! Aunque yo realmente hice algo simple y fácil:

Un brinca brinca.
Una piñata de cupcake.
El pastel fue un grupo de cupcakes que todos los niños decoraron ellos mismos.
Pitillos rosados y bebidas con rosado.

¡Eso es todo! Y de verdad quedó una fiestica muy divertida y se veía tan lindo todo. Maya estaba super feliz y la disfrutó mucho, y todos los niños también.

Hice pastelitos con una caja de mezcla para pastel de Betty Croker llamado chip de cereza (Cherry chip) y estaban riquísimos. El glaseado lo compré hecho pero lo decoré yo misma. Es mi primera vez que uso mangas y supplies para decorar tortas y me encantó, ya lo quiero volver a hacer y aprender más.

Cuando estaba comprando todo para la fiesta me encontré con las latas de aguas de sabores con soda marca La Croix y me parecieron tan lindas y diferentes así que agarré las que tenían rosadito.

No podemos creer que ya Maya tenga 5, pero es la purita verdad. Ha sido tan chevere tener a Mayita en nuestra familia, ella es una niña lo más pink que existe, muy cuchi y con una personalidad fuerte.

En esos días la pueden encontrar dibujando o leyendo, son sus cosas favoritas. Cuando lleguamos a la casa después de que se come su merienda la pueden encontrar jugando sola disfrutando un montón, hablando con sus muñecas y con lo que tenga a la mano. ¡Me encanta su imaginación!
