I feel that this year’s summer has been busier than the past ones, I don’t know why but we sure try to pack as many activities as we can taking advantage of the long long days. We have spent lots of time in the pool, gone to many parks, my sister’s wedding, visited the San Diego County Fair plus the kids in each of their daily activities have had parties and exciting field trips and there is still one whole month left! Phew!

For busy outings under the sun I realize I have to be creative with Maya’s hair, she needs to have a hairdo that lasts a lot and that looks good plus her hair needs to be protected. For that, I am still loving Johnson’s No More Tangles® and I keep learning more and more hairdos, I love it!

So today I wanted to show you the hairstyle I do on Maya’s hair most of these summer days. It’s easy and quick, it keeps the hair out of her face and it lasts her the whole day, even when she goes in the pool.

GO-TO SUMMER HAIRSTYLE FOR GIRLS

Here are the steps to make the Half French Braid:

1. Apply Johnson’s No More Tangles Shampoo and Conditioner, we use at night which is when she takes a shower.
2. Apply Johnson’s No More Tangles Leave-In Conditioner, we do it during the morning with the hair dry.
3. Spray Johnson’s No More Tangles Detangling Spray and comb or brush all hair, it will unlock knots easily!
4. Separate the section of the hair where you want the braid, usually until behind the year only.
5. Grab a small section of hair from the front and divide it in three.
6. Start making the braid, right over middle then left over middle.*
7. Then grab one little piece of one side and add it to each section (either right or left), do this every time until you are done with the whole side section.
8. Continue to make the braid without pulling any more sections from the sides.
9. Secure it at the end with a rubber band and add a nice bow.

I keep practicing and the days I have more time I actually do other hairstyles, but most of them have this side french braid as a base!
* It is hard to explain a french braid in writing if it’s the first time you do a french braid and don’t understand my explanation I suggest you watch YouTube videos which are very very helpful, that’s actually how learned! Try with some of these from Johnson’s Baby.

PEINADO DE VERANO: MEDIA TRENZA FRANCESA

Siento que este año nuestro verano ha estado más full que otros, no sé por qué, pero estoy segura de que hemos aprovechado de los días super largos y hemos hecho muuuchas actividades chéveres. Hemos pasado mucho tiempo en la piscina, ido a muchos parques, fuimos a la boda de mi hermana, fuimos a la feria del condado, y además los niños en cada una de sus actividades diarias (campamento de Adri y guardería de Maya) han tenido fiestas y excursiones chéveres ¡y eso que todavía queda un mes entero! ¡Uff!

Para los días ocupados bajo el sol me doy cuenta de que tengo que ser creativa con el pelo de Maya, le tengo que hacer un peinado que dure mucho, que se vea bien y además el pelo necesita estar protegido. Para eso sigo amando los productos Johnson No More Tangles ® y sigo aprendiendo más y más peinados… ¡me encanta!

Así que hoy les quiero mostrar el peinado que le hago a Mayita la mayoría de estos días de verano. Es fácil y rápido, le mantiene el pelo fuera de la cara y le dura todo el día, incluso cuando se mete en la piscina.

Aquí están los pasos para hacer la Media Trenza Francesa:

1. Aplica No More Tangles Shampoo y Acondicionador de Johnson’s, nosotros lo usamos en la noche que es cuando se toma su ducha.
2. Aplica el acondicionador sin enjuague de Johnson’s No More Tangles, este usualmente se lo pongo por la mañana con el pelo seco.
3. Aplica el spray de Johnson’s No More Tangles Detangling Spray y peina o cepilla todo el pelo, se va a desenredar ¡super fácil!
4. Separa la sección del pelo donde quieras la trenza, usualmente hasta sólo por detrás de la oreja.
5. Agarra una pequeña sección de pelo de en frente divídela en tres.
6. Comienza a hacer la trenza, el pedazo derecho sobre el medio y luego el izquierdo sobre medio. *
7. Después agarra otro pedazo de un lado y agrégalo a cada sección (ya sea derecha o izquierda), haz esto cada vez, hasta que hayas terminado con la sección de lado completamente.
8. Sigue haciendo la trenza sin agarrar más secciones de los lados.
9. Ponle una colita o goma y adórnala con una lacito bonito ¡y listo!

Yo sigo practicando y los días que tengo más tiempo para peinarla si le hago otros peinados pero la mayoría se derivan de este, ¡es el básico que uso para todo!

* Es difícil explicar una trenza francesa por escrito, si es la primera vez que haces una trenza francesa y no entiendes bien mi explicación te sugiero que veas videos de YouTube que son muy pero muy útiles, ¡así fué como yo aprendí! Puedes empezar con algunos de estos de Johnson’s Baby.
