I was thinking and thinking of what type of gift could we give Adrian’s First Grade teacher, we always like to do a special handmade present or give it in a creative way, and I always want Adrian to contribute to it somehow so I came up with this DIY Teachers gift!
I saw that they sell pretty personalized note cards for teachers with nice school elements and first I thought I could design one but then I thought it would be much better for Adrian to do it and then I scan it and add the teacher’s name.
We absolutely LOVE the result and I think the teacher will love it too!
It is pretty easy to make if you know how to use any software to treat images. I’m going to detail the step-by-step here and I am also including the pencil drawing where you can add your own text to the card. Check out how to make a personalized note card for your teacher:
Tell your child to draw his/her teacher at the classroom, either at her desk or with him, whatever he wants. The drawing can be as big as a letter sized paper because you can reduce it later on the computer.
Don’t forget to write the name of the artist!
Proceed to scan all the drawings (if you have only one drawing and the signature separated it will be easier to use).
Use a photo software like PicMonkey, Photoshop or any other that you have available to lay out the drawings and type the name of the teacher. In this case, Adrian wanted it to say “Note from Mrs. Garcia”.
Print on cardstock, cut if necessary and done! Get matching envelopes and wrap the cards and envelopes with a strip of patterned paper, then place it all in a gift bag.
I used 8.5 x 11 cardstock I had handy but nowadays most printers can print a card easily, so if you want to make these printing them directly on 5 x 7 cards would be fine.
I am including a pdf for you to download notecard template with only the pencil on top, then you can add your child’s drawing on the bottom and whatever text you need on top of the pencil 🙂 Have fun!

NOTAS PERSONALIZADAS PARA MAESTROS HECHAS POR LOS NIÑOS
Estaba pensando y pensando en qué tipo de regalo podríamos darle a la maestra de primer grado de Adrián, siempre nos gusta hacer algo especial hecho a mano o que esté presentado de manera creativa, y siempre quiero que Adrian contribuya de alguna manera,
Así que vi que venden tarjeticas personalizadas especiales para los maestros, con elementos de la escuela por ejemplo y primero pensé que podría diseñar unas, pero luego pensé que sería mucho mejor que Adrian hacelas dibujara y luego escanearlo y añadir el nombre de la maestra.
¡Pues nos encantó el resultado y creo que a la maestra le van a encantar también!
Es bastante fácil de hacer, con sólo manipular los dibujos un poquito en la compu. Aquí les voy a poner el paso a paso y también estoy incluyendo una plantilla con el dibujo a lápiz donde pueden añadir su propio texto a la tarjeta. A continuación pueden ver cómo hacer una tarjeta de nota personalizada para sus maestras:
Díganle a su niño(a) que dibuje su maestra(o) en el salón de clases, ya sea en su escritorio o con él mismo, lo que él quiera. El dibujo puede ser tan grande como un papel de tamaño carta, porque se puede reducir más tarde en la compu.
¡No se olviden de incluir la firma del artista!
Ahora pueden escanear todos los dibujos (si sólo tienen un dibujo y la firma por separado será más fácil de hacer).
Yo usé cartulina tamaño carta para las tarjetas porque la tenía a mano, pero hoy en día la mayoría de las impresoras pueden imprimir una tarjeta pequeña con facilidad, así que mejor si pueden, imprímanlas directamente en una tarjeta de 5 x 7 tarjetas.
Estoy incluyendo una plantilla que puedes descargar para hacer tu propia tarjeta, incluye sólo con el lápiz en la parte superior, así le puedes añadir el dibujo de tu hijo o hija en la parte de abajo y el texto encima del lápiz 🙂 ¡Espero disfruten!
