The efforts of raising bilingual children pay off, and when they show, it feels AMAZING, when you realize that your child is becoming completely bilingual AND biliterate, there are just no words that can describe the feeling.
The other day Adrian decided to write these notes for us at the same time, one for me and one for Daddy. I didn’t realize until later when I took a look at Derek’s note that it said the exact same thing as mine but in English ♥. I almost cried. I know that he is bilingual and that he is getting amazing at reading and writing both languages but to demonstrate it like this, out of his own initiative, it’s different.
That’s when I knew that all of our efforts towards a bilingual education haven’t been in vain, it’s not easy, it takes patience, it takes time but it works.
If you are raising a bilingual child and you are doubting it, keep going, don’t give up, all your efforts are going to be worth it and what’s more important, the child’s future is going to multiply with opportunities, they will be thanking you later.

Los esfuerzos de darles una educación bilingüe a los niños dan resultados, y cuando los resultados se hacen notar, se siente LO MÁXIMO, cuando te das cuenta de que tu hijo está creciendo completamente bilingüe y alfabeto en dos idiomas, simplemente no hay palabras para poder expresar la emoción.
El otro día Adrian decidió escribirnos una notica a mi y otra a su papá. Me pareció lindo pero cuando vi la nota de Derek y me di cuenta que decía lo mismo exactamente que la mía pero en inglés ♥, casi me pongo a llorar!
Yo se que es el bilingüe y que ultimamente está leyendo muy bien en los dos idiomas pero que lo demuestre así de repente sin que nadie le diga nada, solo porque quiso!? Eso es muy diferente.
Ahí fué cuando me di cuenta una vez más que nuestros esfuerzos de darle una educación bilingüe han valido mucho la pena, no han sido en vano, y es que no es fácil, hay que tener mucha paciencia, toma tiempo pero si funciona.
Si ustedes están criando a niños bilingües y lo están dudando porque no les ha dado tan buenos resultados aún, no se desesperen, sigan adelante, no se rindan, todos sus esfuerzos valdrán la pena y lo que es más importante, las oportunidades se les multiplicarán a sus niños en su futuro y estarán agradeciéndoles luego.
