The other day we went out and helped with a garage sale at grandpa’s house, it went pretty well! One of the things that was going to be sold but we wanted to keep were sidewalk chalks. We used them right away to keep the kids entertained.

My go-to game is Hopscotch (El avioncito) but my sister in law is pretty creative with the kids and she made up this game: Between the lines (with a name and everything!). I immediately started taking pictures because I thought it was so fun!

So here is how the chalk game Between the Lines goes:

• Draw several double-lines in different colors in a row separated by some space (see photo above).
• Fill them zig-zag style or some other fill or just leave them blank inside.
• Grab 5 or more small rocks to throw.
• Draw a line not too far where kids should stand to throw the rocks.
• The idea is that kids start throwing the rocks between the lines, starting with the first closest double-line and continuing until the last furthest one.

Of course, after a little while, the kids will start playing their own way. They were having fun just by picking all the rocks. And Maya especially loves to organize shapes, so she spent some time playing with the rocks and making little shapes with them.

JUEGO CON TIZA, ENTRE LÍNEAS

El otro día fuimos a ayudar a casa del abuelo en una venta de garage y salió de lo más bien. Una de las cosas que estaban para la venta eran unas tizas para usar en la acera, las agarramos para no venderlas y jugar ahí mismo y entretener a los niños.

El único juego que yo se es el avioncito pero mi cuñada es bien creativa con los niños y entonces inventó este juego: Entre Líneas (le inventó el nombre y todo!). Yo saqué la cámara inmediatamente porque estaba de lo más chévere.

Aquí les dejo cómo se juega Entre Líneas:

• Dibuja varias líneas dobles en fila de diferentes colores separadas entre sí (ve la segunda foto de este post)
• Las puedes rellenar en zig-zag así como las de aquí o dejarlas sin rellenar.
• Agarra 5 o más piedritas para jugar.
• Dibuja una línea paralela a todas las líneas dobles no muy lejos desde donde los niños van a tirar las piedras.
• La idea es que los niños lanzen cada piedrita una por una y caiga entre las líneas, empezando desde la doble línea más cercana hasta la más lejana.

Después de un rato los niños empezaron a jugar a su manera, se divirtían nada más recojiendo las piedras, yendo y viniendo! A Maya le encanta organizar figuras de todo tipo así que se pasó un buen tiempo organizando las piedras y armando figuritas.Y al final terminaron haciendo muchos dibujos en la acera con todas las tizas, la verdad las tizas son buena diversión!
