Bloguera Retreat – Let’s keep growing!

The beginning of this week was like a little mini tornado in my world. Don’t get confused and think “Retreat” here offered a relaxed vacation, no it offered all the Top Blogueras lots of hard-working-good-for-your-enrichment-and-progress kind of treats.

Since the night I arrived (Sunday) we were assigned “homework” to do for the next day. To think about our business plan, how do you see your blog/business a year from now? And what steps do you need to do get there? The idea is to start putting actions to our plans and to actually make THE PLAN. I loved this. I actually still don’t have the exact plan yet, there was much to do during the whole retreat too, but I’m working on it.

The event was full of sessions from the top executives and leaders from our community, and more than sessions they were workshops were we had to think, write and share our credo (like a mission statement) and our 30 sec pitch. We also brainstormed ways to collaborate with each other. The mentors/executives were also made available for a little private session during the day with each of us. I didn’t get a chance to talk to one of them but I will through email because the whole event does not end there, it will continue throughout the year in many ways, so it’s open for us to grow. Can you believe LATISM, Latina Bloggers Connect and all the Sponsors did this for us? I am so thankful!

And of course our famous visit to the White House which I will come back and make a detail post about that… So much to say! I am not into politics at all as you can see, I am such a right side brain person but I have to admit that I need to become more balanced, because that will help me plus this blog has brought me to the White House for a reason, that reason is still blurry to me but I have a start point now!

I hardly had a couple of hours before I had to catch my plane to do some sight-seeing in Washington, not enough! I would love to go back and visit DC as a tourist more calmly! –And of course, the I had to take photos of the Hotel room, it was so different than your regular hotels, I loved it!! As soon as I stepped in I took all the photos!

PS#1: This time during the trip I did something different with the kids, I kept sending photos for them to see (through Derek’s phone) and they loved it! I made sure to show I was on a plane and things like that, it made it special for them and it made me feel closer to them while away, I wrote about it on Blogs de Mamás.

El principio de esta semana fué como un mini tornado para mi. No se crean que la palabra “Retiro” en este caso significó descanso, no, significó trabajo duro, proceso de enriquecimiento y crecimiento para todas las Top Blogueras, algo que nos viene de maravilla.

Desde la primera noche en que llegué (El Domingo), nos asignaron “tarea” para el día siguiente. Pensar acerca de nuestro plan de negocios, cómo vemos nuestro negocio o blog en un año? Y qué pasos debemos tomar para hacer esto? La idea es poner acción al plan. A mi me encantó estp. Yo toavía no tengo mi plan exacto y había tanto que hacer durante todo el retiro pero sigo trabajando en eso.

El evento estuvo lleno de charlas de ejecutivas de alto nivel y también de líderes de nuestra comunidad. Más que charlas fueron talleres porque tuvimos que trabajar en nuestro “Credo”, en nuestro pitch de 30 seg. También hicimos tormenta de ideas acerca de como colaborar más entre nosotras. Las mentoras/ejecutivas se hicieron disponibles para tener sesiones chiquiticas privadas con cada una de nosotros durante el día. A mi no me dió tiempo de hablar con ninguna pero tendremos chance de hacerlo por email porque el evento no termina solo allí, continuará durante el año en muchas maneras para que podamos crecer. Pueden creer que todo esto lo hizo Latism, Latina Bloggers Connect y todos los Sponsors para nosotras? Estoy bien agradecida!

Y porsupuesto, nuestra ya famosa visita a la Casa Blanca, la cual les contaré en otro post por separado, hay tanto que contar! Yo no soy una persona de políticas y entiendo muy poco, como ven soy casi que 100% del lado derecho del cerebro pero debo admitir que un poquito más de balance no me viene mal, si este blog me llevó hasta allá es por alguna razón la cual nosé específicamente ahorita pero confío en que existe.

Tuve tan poquito tiempo de salir a turistear, como un par de horas nada más. Me encantaría regresar a DC y ver todo con calma. Y como verán no me pude contener de tomarle fotos a la hacitación, es tan diferente a cualquier hotel, me encantó! Apenas llegué tomé todas las fotos!

PD#1: Esta vez durante el viaje hice algo distinto, le mandé fotos a los niños de vez en cuando (a través del celulcar de Derek) y les encantó! Me aseguré de que se viera donde estaba así como el avión y fué especial para ellos y me sentí como más comunicada con ellos duarnte el viaje, fué divertido.
