Milk and cookies

When I was a kid I loved to go and grab my own snacks, since very little. I still remember my mom saying how scared she was when she came into the kitchen one night and saw me on top of the counter opening up a kitchen cabinet by myself, I don’t know how old I was but I’m guessing, 4 or 5.

Anyways, the thing one of my most favorite snacks was and still is milk with cookies. I would grab whichever cookie was available at the moment, some very cold milk and take it to the tv room, sit and watch cartoons, novelas or movies, depending on the age, LOL!

I remember I had to work hard to get the milk to be very cold because the milk we had at home was made from powered milk, so it was made in the blender and even if it was made from cold water it wouldn’t be very cold right after it was made.

So, there had to be enough milk made from a couple of days ago, otherwise I wouldn’t be able to have my milk with cookies. I didn’t like to put ice on it cause it would become watery, I was very picky. Ok well, I still am. But when it was perfectly cold I was in heaven! And this was not some snack I could have at a friend’s place cause the milk wasn’t usually cold enough at other people’s houses, so having this snack all by myself at home prepared just the way I liked it was my perfect moment that I enjoyed very much.

I still love to do this, although now-a-days it’s way easier considering I don’t use powdered milk and I am less picky so I use ice if necessary!

Milk and Cookies
– E S P A Ñ O L –

Dariela, what a nice post. Reminded me that I loved cold milk with ice cubes… but I added some instant coffee and sugar. That was my secret because my mom didn´t allow me to have coffee. Sometimes I blended everything and looked like a milk shake. I still like it.
