They call it: Lechita

Lechita technically means “little milk”, but sounds weird in English no? Well, it is an endearing way to call milk, everything turns out endearing with the “little” added to our Spanish words, it’s pretty cool if you ask me.
But anyways; I wanted to share how the kids like to have milk at home and there is not much science to it really. They love it plain in a glass or a bottle like Maya here in the pics, she has her bottle every night before bed. I ask her: Maya do you want lechita? And she nods her head and smiles. Adrian asks for a glass of milk and always reminds me: Mami don’t give it to me warm cause I just like it cold and I get him, I can’t stand drinking warm milk either, not even a little, it has to be super cold.

Lechita, así le dicen los niños a la leche casi siempre y hoy quiero compartir cómo es que les gusta tomarse su lechita y la verdad no tiene mucha ciencia porque les gusta mucho tomársela sin nada, simplemente en un vaso o en su tetero como Maya aquí en las fotos, ella siempre se lo toma antes de dormir todas las noches. Yo le pregunto: Maya, quieres tu lechita? Y mueve la cabeza como diciéndo que si y sonríe. Adri me pide leche y me dice: Mami pero no me la calientes porque a mi me gusta es fría, y lo entiendo, yo no puedo tomar leche ni siquiera a temperatura ambiente, tiene que ser bien fría!

Cereal in the morning (and sometimes at different times of the day) is what they ask me for almost every day. Maya eats it by herself, I serve her little by little so she wont make too much mess. She loves to grab the bowl with cereal and milk included and drink it as she was drinking from a glass!!

El cereal en las mañanas (y a veces a otras horas) me lo piden casi que todos los días, Maya se lo toma sola, le sirvo de a poquito para que no haga tanto desastre, pero le encanta agarrar el plato y llevárselo todo a la boca como si estuviera tomándose la leche de un vaso!

Sometimes Adrian asks for chocolate milk and I give it to him also very cold. I give it to Maya too but not too much yet.

Adrian a veces me pide leche con chocolate y se la doy también bien fría. A Maya se la doy a veces también pero no mucho todavía!
