Lights off – Camera out

Last Thurday we had a huge blackout in San Diego (7 hours for us), you probably heard about it. Well, we had no major issues in our family but it was a little wake up call to get our emergency kit together. I started buying some canned food, just that, there is more that we need to arrange I know but we’ll be doing it little by little.

But that night we had some fun, we all ate cereal for dinner, we hung out in the dark with candles, flashlights and stars. Adrian has a toy flashlight so he was having lots of fun with it. We stepped out to the patio and saw a very cool sky with lots of stars and then after Maya fell sleep quickly because she was so tired we just chatted and made animal shadows with our hands, we discovered some funny monsters too!

The only bad incident was that my camera broke, all of a sudden just like that. At least I had a little fun shooting the pictures here but I had to take it to get repaired and it will take a week or 2. Good thing my sister in law Jill, is letting me borrow her point and shoot and I will survive with it until I have mine back. Maya’s monthly picture is delayed because of my camera not working. I plan to take the pictures today, I hope to have the post up by tonight or tomorrow.

I’m so thankful for electricity, this week my daily thanks goes to the power we use!

El jueves pasado tuvimos un apagón grandísimo aquí en San Diego (7 horas para nosotros), probablemente escucharon de eso. Bueno, la verdad aquí en la casa todo bien sin problemas grandes pero si fué una pequeña alarma para que arreglemos nuestro kit de emergencias que no tenemos. Yo empezé comprando algunos enlatados, hay muchas más cosas que tenemos que comprar y arreglar pero lo seguiremos haciendo poco a poco.

Esa noche nos divertimos porque hicimos cosas diferentes, todos comimos cereal de cena, estuvimos todos juntos en la oscuridad a la luz de velas, linternas y estrellas. Adrian estaba gozando con una linternita que tiene el, hasta salimos al patio y vimos el cielo bastante estrellado, después Maya se acostó y nosotros nos quedamos conversando y jugando haciendo sombras con nuestras manos y la luz de las linternas, descubrimos bastantes monstruos y Adrian gozando!

El único incidente que la verdad estuvo terrible fué que mi cámara se echó a perder, si, sin más ni más derepente no quiso funcionar más. La tuve que llevar a reparar y se tardará una semana o más. Lo bueno que mi cuñada Jill me está prestando su cámara pequeña mientras tanto. La foto del cumple mes de Maya está retrasada debido al fallo de la cámara, la quiero tomar hoy y espero tener el post en la noche o mañana.

Estoy muy agradecida de tener electridad, las gracias diarias de esta semana son para la luz que usamos!
