And it’s not that I want to go back to LA. no, I’m liking it here. I just want to go back to a routine! The routine I had with the kids.

You see, Adrian is out of school and no daycare or summer camp yet, Maya doesn’t have daycare yet either and we hang out all day (the three of us) at home or at the park or run errands. I’m not used to it! I know we will have a routine soon but I’m so impatient and I want to get things done. I still have several boxes lying around and my to-do list is growing and growing. But all in all, I don’t want to make a post of complaints, I really just want to let you all know how we are adjusting.

The kids amaze me, they are adjusted from day one. Adrian is really excited to be here, maybe he really loves changes. And Maya, she was sleeping in our room in her little playpen before we moved and now she sleeps in the room with Adrian and in the big crib. I was afraid she would complain or wake up a lot or something, but no, she slept through the night since the first night and went to bed nicely without any big fuzz. She has been so good!

We are all so happy to be together 24/7 and not have to share only the weekends with Derek (He was coming up to LA during the weekends only for 8 months!), he loves coming home and having the kids run up to him every night. I think the only one that needs more getting-used-to time is me! But I am enjoying and taking it all in little by little.

I love to have this feeling of wanting to explore the city, what’s close-by and what’s far too. I love to get lost sometimes and discover streets and places. I also can’t help to compare many things between places, like I do miss my shower but I can get used to this one quick. The walking distance from the car to the apartment is longer and something I have to get used to, but I will because it’s so nice.

I miss things that I had no idea I would, like our washer and dryer. We have a set here but they seem so old school to me, we used to have an HE set and I now know that I love them! Hey, I did the laundry in 3 loads, now I need 6 loads! And the amount of water the non-HE washer uses!! OMG! Ok, I won’t complain more, at least I have them and they are veeeeery useful!

One great thing that I wasn’t expecting is that there is recycling here! Yay! I thought there wasn’t but we do have.

And the best best best thing I’m enjoying about San Diego is the weather! Oh my! Lovely! It’s been hot the last couple of days but it’s still so fresh! I find that we are outdoors more than we used to in LA, that is such a good thing, I’m loving it.

PS: I will be back later with Maya’s Monthly picture! We had a busy weekend with my mom and sister visiting so I still need to take the picture!

¡QUIERO REGRESAR!

Y no es que quiera regresar a L.A., no, la verdad me gusta San Diego y lo que quiero es regresar a mi rutina! Nuestra rutina, la que tenía con los niños.

Ahorita Adrian ya no tiene colegio y tampoco guardería o campamento de verano al que va y Maya tampoco le hemos conseguido guardería aún y entonces nos la pasamos  juntos todo el día en la casa o en el parque o haciendo diligencias, ¡yo no estoy acostumbrada a esto!

Se que la tendremos de nuevo pronto pero soy tan impaciente que ya quiero que todo esté arreglado, todavía tengo varias cajas sin abrir y mi lista de cosas por hacer sigue creciendo. Pero bueno, no quiero hacerles un post de quejas, quiero contarles cómo estamos y cómo nos vamos ajustando.

Los niños me tienen impresionada, se han ajustado desde el primer día. Adrian está muy contento en general de estar aquí, creo que es una persona a la que le gustarán los cambios. Y Maya, ella dormía en nuestro cuarto con nosotros en su cunita corral y ahora duerme con Adrian en un cuarto y en una cuna grande sin ningún problema. Yo temía que le costara acostumbrarse por el gran cambio pero no, desde el primer día duerme tranquilita durante toda la noche, ¡que linda!

Estamos todos contentos de estar todos juntos todos los días de la semana y no sólo por los fines de semana (Derek estuvo yendo y viniendo a LA sólo por los fines de semana durante 8 meses!). A Derek le encanta regresar del trabajo y que los niños corran a abrazarlo todas las noches. Yo creo que a la que todavía le falta tiempo de acostumbrarse es a mi! Pero yo estoy disfrutando mucho y absorbiendo todo poco a poco.

Almost ready to leave L.A.!  Casi listos para irnos de L.A.!

Me encanta sentir como una emoción por explorar todo lo que hay en la ciudad, desde lo más cercano y común hasta lo más lejano y poco común. Me gusta perderme a veces a propósito y descubrir calles y lugares. Y no puedo dejar de comparar cositas tontas entre la casa donde vivíamos y el apartamento como por ejemplo si extraño a mi ducha pero se que me podré acostumbrar a la nueva facilmente, la distancia que camino del carro al apartamento es mucho mayor pero es tan lindo aquí que me acostumbraré. 

Extraño cosas de las que no tenía idea que extrañaría, como nuestra lavadora y secadora. Aquí en el apartamento si tenemos pero son viejitas en comparación a las que teníamos en L.A. , esas son HE (osea de Eficencia Alta?, nosé como se dice) y ahora es que me doy cuenta cuanto me gustaban!! Lavaba toda la ropa en 3 cargas y ahora la misma cantidad y necesito hacer 6 cargas! Y la cantidad de agua que se usa con la lavadora que no es HE! WOW! Me quedo loca, pero bueno, no me quejo más porque al menos tengo y son muuuuy útiles! 

Una de las cosas que no estaba esperando tener aquí y que me contentó mucho es que si hay basura de reciclaje, Yeii!

Y lo mejor mejor de todo que me ha encantado hasta ahora es el clima, la verdad, es divino, ha hecho bastante calor ultimamente pero es tan fresco, hace brisita y me he dado cuenta que disfrutamos mucho estar afuera, estamos más afuera que lo que estábamos en L.A. , eso es algo que me fascina.

PD: Regreso al ratico con la foto mensual de Maya, tuvimos un fin de semana bien ocupado y rico con la visita de mi mami y mi hermana, todavía tengo que tomar la foto!
