Only one big piece of News today: We are moving!
It’s been a long time since we are planning this move. So long that sometimes it felt that it wasn’t real so I waited for the moment it was very real to share it with you here. And we started packing cause we are moving in 2 weeks so I guess this is happening! We are moving to San Diego which is about 2-3 hours from here.
I will try to tell the short story of it cause otherwise I would bore you to death with such a long post (It turned out to be a little long already) and my fingers will get cramped.
It all started because well, we needed to move. The house we are living at the moment we share with my mom and as nice as it is in a way, everyone needs their own space, this was only temporary since the beginning anyways. So we were first thinking we would move close-by to a nicer city that we can afford (The city we live in right now was not our cup of tea) but started wondering which city would we like to move and live a looong time without having to move in a couple of years again, because now we have kids and we have to look at the schools and think about the family we are raising.
So, Derek loves the country side, mountains and suburban living, he is not crazy about living in LA. I, on the other hand LOVE LA, I repeat: I LOVE LA. Ha ha ha! Ok, once that’s settled let’s continue 🙂
We started looking for a place that would be in-between, a little bit of city and a little bit of country and good schools of course.
Derek’s family is in San Diego, so we thought about San Diego first and I like it there but I’ve always seen it as a slower town, not-so-much-going-on kind of city. Not that that is bad, but I love the lots-of-people, lot-of-stuff-going-on kind of city. My first reaction was NO, not in a million years (Ha! I have to swallow my words now). So we decided to do somewhere in between. But the truth is somewhere in between is not what I really like, cause all the other cities in between are a lot slower for me, so after all San Diego was the one we agreed to plus is great for families, lots of green areas and there IS a lot to do and to explore over there after all (Never say never again!).
Now, my side of the family (mami and sister) will still be here in LA and that is the part I’m having a hard time with. That is the hardest part of this move for me, it’s even hard for me to write this here. BUT, we will be very close, San Diego is only about 2-3 hours away so we’ll make lots of trips, right Dari? Right Mami? And I know that changes are good and that we will be able to create a little cozy nest for our family of 4.
Ok, so there is the little story of our move. It’s a big change for us, for me, and I’m excited as much as I’m scared, I don’t have just little butterflies in my belly, I have bees and birds there!
I’m also excited to share this with you here, this space is my home as well and it’s not going to change at all, talking to you here helps me a lot so thanks so much for reading me, you can’t imagine how you make my day with all your comments, I love to read every single one!
PS: As you can see in the pictures Adrian is having tons of fun with the boxes. Let’s see how he will take everything, I’ll keep you posted. And the kitties are having most of the fun with so many boxes around. Cooper seemed kind of angry when I took his picture, he loves tape and plastic, he was at it right before I snapped the photo!
